The Laboratory Garden
The Laboratory Gardens explores the practice of immersive storytelling through sensory installations. This unit will look at the stories we tell ourselves—and others—about discovery, connection and the narratives we form in the process.
We will touch on the rising tide of isolation and loneliness, and explore ways to use spatial and experiential design to craft moments of spectacle and discovery that can be shared with a perfect stranger. The output will be a single installation that will require the collective cooperation of students, who will be divided into three working groups, each focusing on a different aspect of the exhibit.
